S.S. Corrugated Metallic Flexible Hose (Bellow Type) « Products

ADVANTAGES OF FLEXIBLE METAL HOSES

  • Suitable for wide temperature range (-270'C to
    700' C)
  • Compensates for thermal expansion or contraction
    in the piping system.
  • High physical strength
  • Good corrosion characteristics
  • Fire resistant
  • Moisture resistant
  • Long life
  • Resistant to abrasion, penetration and damage.
  • Absorbs or dampens vibration and noise from pumps, compressors, engines and similar equipment
  • Connects misaligned rigid piping
  • Connects moving parts of machinery and equipment
  • Permits a very economical installation against rigid piping in difficult locations

APPLICATIONS

  • Cryogenic equipment
  • Nuclear plants
  • Steam & hot water
  • Lubrication systems
  • Chemical industry
  • Steel industry
  • Food & Beverage industry
  • Fertilizer industry
  • Sugar & Paper industry
  • Automotive exhaust systems
  • Ships & Aircrafts
  • Air conditioning & Refrigeration systems
  • Gas burner systems
  • Compressed air & Pneumatic applications

MODES OF MOVEMENTS

  • Static Installations
Where the Flexible Hose is used to connect
misaligned pipes and remain in a static position.
  • Occasional Flexing
Where the Hose is required to flex occasionally, such as manually operated equipment.
  • Constant Flexing
When the Hose is required to flex continuously, usually in moving machinery.
  • Vibration
High frequency, low amplitude movement e.g. on a compressor.

* The above pressure ratings are for fluid and anbient temperature of 200 C. For higher temperatures apply correction factors as per table II.
* The above data for 250mm and 300mm N.B. can be supplied on request.
* The burst pressure is 4 times the maximum working pressure
* The above technical data is subject to change on account of design improvement.

TEMPERATURE CORRECTION FACTOR

The Recommended Maximum Working Pressure ratings given in Table-I are at a temperature of 20°C. Where Hoses are required to operate at a temperature above 20°C, a correction factor should be applied to the specified working pressure of the selected Hose. The correction factors are

EXAMPLE

A 50 NB Hose is required for a temperature of 300ºC and working pressure of 17Kg/cm². The specified pressure for 50 NB Single Braid Hose as per Table - I is 28 Kg/cm². The correction factor at 300ºC is 0.61. Hence the working pressure permissible is 28 X 0.61 = 17.08 Kg/cm². This is higher than the required pressure i.e. 17Kg/cm². Hence Single Braided Hose is recommended.
